Word of the Year for 2025

Earlier I posted a quickie blog just stating what my word for last year was.
I can't believe I didn't write about it last year ... and for the life of me,
I cannot remember why I didn't.  But, here we are.

My word for 2024 was

STRONG.

I'm not exactly sure why I chose that, besides the obvious ...  At 51 years old, I am
more aware of my need for building and maintaining strength.  Strong was a
good word that I feel went beyond just physical strength this past year.
Sure, I started back to Pilates and can see gains in my abilities
which is exciting.  But, I think 2024 was also about building
mental and emotional strength.  This wasn't anything
I set out to do ... but as usually happens with
my word of the year, it was something
that occurred naturally through
life circumstances.

In the weeks
leading up to the
end of each year, my
mind starts to reflect and
also to look forward. I can never
help but be excited about the start of
a new year.  It's one of my favourite things!
A week or two ago, the word NOURISH came to
mind and I immediately thought it would be my word
for 2025.  It is exactly what I want to be intentional about in
my everyday life. I'm talking about the things I put into my mouth
to nourish my cells, the exercise I do to nourish my muscles, the things I
consume via books, podcasts, socials, streaming etc to nourish my mind, the
intentional time spent outside in the sunshine, at the beach, in the forest to nourish
my soul. And who knows what other nourishing things will present themselves
as this year progresses?

**

I have found, in
the years that I have
been choosing a word for
the year ... which, by the way, I
started doing in 2015 (!!) ... that I am
more able to be intentional with my word if
I lay out some practical plans to go along with the
word.  My favourite word and year is still 2021 where
the word was NEW and every month for the entire year,
Rory and I visited one new beach, one new waterfall & climbed
one new mountain every month.  It was
THE  BEST YEAR EVER.

**

I am still
thinking about
what things I will put
in place for this year to
help me be intentional with
the word nourish.  I'm going to
give myself a bit of time to formulate
those thoughts and then I'll come back
and write a part two.  Let me know if you have
any suggestions!

**

And let me
know what your
word/intention is for
this year! I'd love to know!
